Did you see it then?

....Sheena's first launch show that is.

Good morning, peeps!

If you did see it you were probably amazed as I was at the range of goods available in this Four Day Deal and many of them on Flexipay.  Sounds like it could be heavily damaging to the wallet to me!

Anyhoo, with all the snow that we have outside, I thought I'd show you a nice, warm coloured card first:

The background for this one was produced with Distress Inks and the lovely Sheena Stamps were helped along with a small piece of bubble wrap inked patchily with Persimmon DI.

Here's one with a cooler colour palette:

This time I used an H2O background and painted the outline of the large flowers with Shaded Lilac DI, which I also used for the stamping.  I decided to use the Stampendous Fran-tage Silver Halo Mix embossing powder for the flower centres but, since sample cards take a fair bit of wear, I put Glossy Accents over the top to protect it.  I was quite please with the finished effect although it doesn't show that well in the photo.

Well I'll be tuned in for Sheena's next show at 1.00 p.m. and I hope you will too.

Thanks for looking today.

Another sneak peek

Good morning, peeps and I hope you're all keeping warm again today.  There's weird weather outside - is it fine snow or sleet?  I'm not sure but I don't think I'll go outside to find out!

Here's another of the cards that I made for Sheena's shows next week where you'll be able to buy yummy stash on a four day deal!  I just love this quote from Audrey Hepburn:

This card combines the wonderful Luminarte H2Os for backgrounds with Distress Inks for the stamping.  The embossing on the sentiment is produced with Moonglow Embossing Powder a few of which are still available in the UK from The Stampman (you can use the link above).

This one is very different:

(Sorry about the crooked photograph!)  I tried to create the impression of a Victorian drawing room - I think it worked!

I hope you enjoyed looking at these today and, just as a reminder, this is when you can see the DT's cards on live TV:

Monday 21st January at 8am, 1pm and 5pm
 Tuesday 22nd January at 9am and 4pm
Wednesday 23 January at 8am, 11am, 2pm and 6pm
Thursday 24 January at 8am, 2pm and 5pm
Thanks for looking today and I'll s'see' you again tomorrow.

First sneaky peek of the year!

Good afternoon, peeps!

Well I'm sitting here in the warm and dry looking out at a very snowy Yorkshire and hoping that you're all managing to keep warm and dry too.  I always think that looking out on the snow is the best way to view it, being out in the cold and wet doesn't float my boat at all!

Anyhoo, I'm here to give you a little sneaky peek of wur Sheena's new stamps that I've been working with for the past week.  The first card is a really traditional one and not my usual style at all:

I really loved these lily stamps and they lend themselves perfectly to the decoupage treatment - they also look good stamped directly onto the card front like this one.

There has been much use of the Luminarte Twinkling H2Os on this batch of cards and it looks lush IRL but doesn't photograph well.  Let's hope that those clever cameramen at Create and Craft TV do their usual splendid job so you can see the cards in all their glory.

You can see Sheena on C&C TV over four days on:

Monday 21st January at 8am, 1pm and 5pm
 Tuesday 22nd January at 9am and 4pm

Wednesday 23 January at 8am, 11am, 2pm and 6pm
Thursday 24 January at 8am, 2pm and 5pm

Mind you, knowing how it's been with Sheena's stamps on previous shows, you may be well advised to get in early if you want them!

See you tomorrow for more sneaky peeks!

A belated Happy New Year

I knew it had been ages since I posted anything here but even I was staggered when I saw just how long it was!  Anyhoo, a very Happy New Year to all who are reading this, may the new year bring you blessings and much happiness!

I have a few Clarity cards to show you today although from now on there will be fewer Clarity cards on my blog because lack of time, (and very often the absence of my mojo!), has made me decide to step down from the Claritystamp Design Team.  I am sad to do this but I have been privileged to be a part of the team for three years now and I feel that there are new teamies who have lots to offer and I just need to grab back some time for other things.

Well, the quality of the photographs hasn't changed then!  These quirky house images inspired me to create a little fairy village - strange things happen in Diane's world you know!  So the gate stamp created a sturdy platform for the largest house.  This time the images were coloured with Distress Markers and I used them on the Ranger Specialty Stamping paper, as recommended by the great Sir Tim.  This card is not cheap but worth it for the results it gives so I just keep it in its packet so that it doesn't get confused with ordinary stamping card.  Mind you, that would be hard to do since it feels so incredibly smooth compared to the ordinary stuff.

I made this card just to illustrate that an effective card can be produced from just a sentiment stamp, as long as you have the Go Kreate Dies that is!  The corners are cut from an old die that's probably out of production by now but there are plenty of others on the market.

This final card just uses simple techniques of masking and inking with Stampin' Up! Bashful Blue - just add a ribbon and you're there.

Well it feels good to be back and thank you for looking today.  Please leave a comment so that I know you're still there!

Flying Colours

Good evening, peeps!

Yes, I'm back again with another sneaky peek at the new stamps that are being launched by the lovely Sheena on Friday.  Yesterday I showed you the Ornate Snowflake stamps so, by way of contrast, today there are some butterflies to see:

These two butterflies are stamped and embossed on to acetate, for the large butterfly I used black detail embossing powder and for the small one I used WOW! Black Glint EP.  Both of them have some blue glitter applied to the back of the image.  I used some new blingy Butterfly Bodies from Joycraft that I bought just the other day and I think they work really well.  Of course the iridescent background was created with the amazing Luminarte products, which Sheena will be demonstrating on the shows on Friday.

The flourishes are from the same plate, which is called  Flying Colours, and the purple ones are stamped with Versamark and have mica powder brushed on to them.  The black ones are embossed with the Black Glint EP again.  The silver coloured metal corners are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

These are dragonflies from the same plate and this time they've been stamped and embossed on to glossy card that's been given the polished stone treatment with alcohol inks and then cut out and mounted on more Luminarte background.  The lovely swirly flourish and Ivy Leaves are from the Fairies plate and I'll show you more of those images tomorrow - I just love to keep you in suspenders, don't I?!  The ivy leaves are cut from black glossy card with a Marianne die.  The gold coloured metal butterfly is from my stash.

Don't forget to tune into C & C at 10.00, 1.00 and 6.00 p.m. to see Sheena producing wonderful samples live.

Thanks for looking today and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Snow in August?

Good evening peeps!

I bet that title got you wondering but, don't worry it's not snowing yet - not even in Yorkshire!  But it is snowing on these cards prepared for Sheena's shows on Create and Craft TV on Friday.  There are four wonderful new stamp plates being released and, in case you feeing the old stabbing pains in the wallet, they'll be on Flexipay just to make it easy for you.

Anyhoo, here is the first taster:

I'm still struggling to take photos with my phone so apologies for the poor quality piccies - the cards look so much better IRL and those clever camera people at C & C will let you see the beautiful sheen and sparkle created by the  wonderful Luminarte products.

I used the Luminart Pourables on this card - the Verdigris set.  The Pourables are so versatile - they come with six little pots with lids and a pipette so that you can mix your own colours and store them for another day if you want.  Then you can tip them into a spray, paint with them and basically do whatever you want with them!

There are shows at 10.00, 1.00 and 6.00 p.m. so I hope I'll see you there!

Thank you for looking today.

Are you getting excited yet?

Good afternoon, peeps!

Well I'm getting excited now because Sheena's shows are on tomorrow - YAY!!  I'll be watching and recording at 8.00 a.m. and 10.00 a.m.  There will be more Sheena at the end of the month as well, so you can put 31st August in your diary too.

For today, I've got two more samples using the 'A Little Bit Festive' collection stamps for you and here they are:

First up is that little fairy again, this time wearing a turquoise dress to go with the paper I pulled out of the ancient stash and this time with a different sentiment, but it's still a part of the same stamp plate as the fairy.  The ribbon is from Stampin' Up and is some of their Seam Binding Ribbon.

Here's Santa Baby - that sooo cute little boy in his sleigh tearing open another parcel.  This time he's coloured more traditionally and is surrounded by falling snow.  Both the snowflakes and the sentiment are from the same stamp plate that the little cutie is on.

Both images were, of course, coloured with Copics and Prismas and I must say that it's been great to get back to a bit of colouring with this batch of DT work.  Note to self:  Do more colouring!!  I'm working on a Saturated Canary image at the moment and I'll show you that another day.

If you'd like to see more of the work that I and my talented teamies have done with these stamps go here.

Have you yet worked out what you're going to watch now that the Olympics are over?  That's going to be a puzzler!

Thank you for looking today and I'll see you again soon.
