The Mad Hatter's Tea Party

Good afternoon, peeps!
That's what happened yesterday at my son's house - the tea party, I mean! Number two granddaughter is 11 years old tomorrow and yesterday she had a few friends home for an Alice in Wonderland themed party - hence the reason I chose this fantastic Mo Manning image for her card. The image is called 'Hatter' and you can buy him here. There are other Alice in Wonderlad character images as well, all with Mo's unique touch!



Isn't he a picture of sartorial elegance in his multi-coloured outfit? I'm sorry I don't have the Copic colours for you because this is another image that I coloured whilst on hols recently. The DP is Basic Grey Kioshi, the pearls are from The Hobby House and the sentiment is another from Pink Petticoat Girly Curly Sentiments Collection, which was one of my better investments, I feel. The flowers are, of course, from Wild Orchid Crafts and the leaves were punched with a McGill punch. The ribbon is from my stash and here is the inside of the card:


The tags were punched with a Sizzix punch, edged with Adirondack Dabbers in Cool Peri and Purple Twilight and I think you can see that the one on the left is just for the greeting (a Clarity Stamp) but the one on the right is my homemade attempt at a voucher providing funds for the birthday girl to spend at the craft show at Harrogate in March. She's following Granny and Mummy and becoming a crafter - way to go, Lucy!
Well I'm just about to follow the Mad Hatter and have a cup of tea that my darling hubby is presntly making for me.

Digi Doodle Shop Challenge #44 Swirls

Good morning, peeps! Here I am again but this time with the latest challenge from Digi Doodle Shop's Best and, this week, we'd like to see swirls on your project! Here is my DT card, which I really enjoyed making:



The image is called 'Fairy 1' and you can buy her here in the store. Isn't she gorgeous? I think that the artist must have used me as a model (I wish)!!
She's coloured with Copics and I may even be able to remember some of them but I coloured her whilst I was on holiday last week. The DPs are Papermania 'Rose Garden' and the swirly stem and vines are cut in pearlised card from 2 different Marianne D dies. The roses and stamens are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment is again from Pink Petticoat - it's from the Girly Curly Sentiments collection.
I think she looks lovely perched there on her rose with the her rainbow wings glittered with Glamour Dust. I hope you like her and that you come and join us with your very own swirly project!

Another tissue box cover

Good afternoon, peeps!
I was teaching a workshop yesterday at my local craft shop (Samuel Taylor in Brighouse) on how to make a tissue box and the original sample is here further back on my blog. I made this sample because I wanted to show that you don't have to have the flowers to make the box look pretty. The images are, of course, from Lili of the Valley and I really do love their images.
Here's the first close up of one of the little poppets:


The little butterfies are all punched from a multi-colur DP with a Martha Stewart punch and the pearls on their bodies are from The Hobby House:

Anything goes at Digi Doodle Shop's Best

Good morning, peeps from the edge of the Northumberland National Park! Yes, I'm here on a week long holiday and enjoying the beautiful scenery and I'd better get on with this post because I'm dependent upon mobile broadband and it has been known to drop the connection!! So, before that happens I'd better get on with telling you about the challenge this week at Digi Doodle Shop's Best, which is 'Anything Goes' so it's a really easy one - why not come and join us?
This card is my contribution this week. I've used the image 'Tug of War', which is available here in the store. That pooch is certainly trying to keep that sock!

Fussy & Fancy Challenge 28 - Mindy's Sketch

Good morning, peeps!
This is my first post as DT member for the Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge Blog so how exciting is that?! Our lovely sponsor this week is Digi Doodle Shop and I have used their fabulous image Basket Full of Love, which you can find here because, now that Christmas is well and truly over, that love season is upon us again!

This is another fairly clean and simple design for me with no flowers - how did I manage that? Have I found a new style? I suspect that there will be the return of the flowers some time soon since I have drawers full of them and more on the way!!
The DPs are some oldies but goodies from my stash and the ribbon is from the boys at Fantastic Ribbons. The group of hearts in the bottom right-hand corner is a Magnolia stamp, the sentiment is from an old Hero Arts set (I think!) and the heart charm is from the Hobby House.

Pink and Green - Clean and Simple!

Good morning, peeps!
Yes, that's the title of the challenge this week at Digi Doodle Shop's Best and, as you can see, I most certainly stayed with that theme!

I've used the lovely 'Spring Gathering' image,which you can find in the store here. I really had great fun colouring all the folds in her lovely dress!
The whole card design is very much a change for me in that it doesn't look like a florist's shop window! It's simply finished with ribbon and DP from my stash (I think the DP may be Anna Griffin but really not sure) and pearls from the Hobby House. I distressed all the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress ink. Of course my DH asked me if it was meant to be ripped! The corners are cut with a Cuttlebug die.

Help for Katie

Many of you will already have read about this but I have only just become aware of this heart rending situation.

Katie Emmerson Renz married to Kevin with 3 beautiful boys, the twins Nate & Will aged 5 and Hunter aged 10, had some news just before Christmas that has rocked their world as they know it.

Katie has been diagnosed with stage 4 Stomach Cancer and is currently undergoing her only option which is Chemotherapy.


The crafting community is a wonderful and generous group and I would appeal to you all to go to Jak's blog to read more of Katie's story and to please consider making a donation to help with Katie's treatment.
