An apple a day

Good afternoon, peeps.

I hope you've all enjoyed the Spring weather we've had although it seems to have taken a diversion for the moment!  My cards today speak more of Harvest time than Spring but I wanted to show them to you because wor Sheena has been busy designing some brand new embossing folders, one of these is shown on this card.  There are some new stamps as well but more of that later.

The Distress inks are featured here as well as a little of the Pebeo Gilding Wax (brilliant stuff!).  You can also just about see on this picture that I've used Glossy Accents on the apples for a realistic touch.

Here's another one using the same embossing folder but looking very different:

This time I've used the embossing folder on Centura Pearl card and the horse image is one of the new stamps as is the sentiment.  I think you'll love them all!

Sheena's shows are scheduled for Thursday 12 March at 8.00 a.m., 11.00 a.m., 2.00 p.m., 4.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. so I hope you'll be watching and I'll see you again tomorrow with more sneaky peeks.

Thank you for looking today.

They're peeking back at us!

Good morning, peeps!

I think these deer must be curious about the launch of wor Sheena's new stamps and embossing folders because they're doing sneaky peeks back at us from their forest home!

Don't worry, I haven't quite lost it totally but we Inkoids are always talking about 'sneak peeks' at forthcoming releases and it rather looks like the deer are taking a sneak peek at us in this card!

To create this card, I first brayered the Holly embossing folder with Versamark and, after it had been through the eBosser, I heat embossed the holly pattern.  I then cut between the holly twig pattern to create the two halves, which I pushed apart to create the aperture.  Multiple shades of green Distress Ink were then used to colour the holly and I also used the Distress Ink to paint the stamped holly leaves that are mounted with Collall 3D Gel on top of the embossed panels.  The trees from one of the new A5 stamp plates (Country Christmas) were stamped on to the background card, again using Distress Ink and the deer were coloured with Spectrum Noir pens, cut out separately and mounted 3D.

I seem to be a bit tuck on traditional Christmas colours this year but I hope you like it.

Sheena's shows are:

Monday 21 July at 8.00 a.m., 1.00, 6.00 and 8.00 p.m.
Tuesday 22 July at 9.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.
Wednesday 23 July at 2.00 and 9.00 p.m.
Thursday 24 July at 1.00 and 5.00 p.m.

If the insomnia bites, there are quite a few repeats of shows in the middle of the night too!

Thank you for looking today and I'll be back tomorrow to show you another sample.

Sneaky Peek number 2

Good afternoon, peeps!  I've just popped in for a quick post between food shopping and a visit to the hairdresser - well I'd hate wor Sheena to see me looking unkempt when I'm watching her on TV next week!!

I've just checked the Create and Craft TV schedule and Sheena's new stamps and embossing folders will be launched at 8.00 a.m. on Monday 21 July with further shows at 1.00 p.m. and 6.00 p.m.  Since it's a 4 Day Deal, we can look forward to more shows after that and I'll keep you posted with the times of those.

Here's today's peek at what you have coming up:

This is made from two of the embossing folders.  The main feature is 'Snowy Rooftops' which I embossed on to a Luminarte H2O background with both white and black embossing powders and then the one with the bow tied around it is 'Evergreen', which is just embossed and then treated with the Silver Gilding Wax.

I'll see you again tomorrow, peeps but thank you for looking today.

Have you heard.....?

....that wor Sheena is back on your TV screens this coming Monday 21 July and it's a Four Day Deal!!

Sheena is launching a new set of 8 (yes 8!) embossing folders with a Christmas theme and new stamps as well during the four days.  I'll keep you posted regarding show times as soon as they are published but the C & C TV Schedule site is revealing nothing at the moment.

Anyhoo, here is a taster from me just to whet your appetite!

This one features one of the images from the new stamps coloured with Spectrum Noir pens (also on the show).  This is a very versatile image since this doesn't have to be Christmas - take away the snow and you could have a wedding anniversary card, Valentine greeting or any number of things.  The red background features the Holly embossing folder, which I've also heat embossed with gold embossing powder to highlight the pattern.  Wondering how it's done?  If you tune in to Sheena's shows it could be one of the techniques she covers.

Thanks for looking today and I'll see you again tomorrow.

More with the Embossing Folders

Good afternoon, peeps!

There's only one more sleep before wor Sheena is back on C & C TV so I hope you're all looking forward to learning some new techniques!  Here is one I made for the show and that defo looks better IRL than it does in the photograph - for one thing, you can't see the bling from the Luminarte Silks on the Mandalas in the photograph.  Anyhoo, here it is:

There are actually three embossing folders used in this card, the Indian Lattice, Mandala and Ornamental.  The latter one is embossed into one of the backing papers printed from Sheena's CD ROM then blinged up with some Silver Sparkle EP.  I did sneak in one stamp - the sentiment from the Tiger stamp plate.

My fellow Inkoids have also been making some wonderful cards for the shows so go here to find links to all their blogs.

The shows are on at 9.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. tomorrow, Monday 12 May so do press the record button if you can't be around to watch them live.

Thanks for looking today.

They're coming back!

Good afternoon, peeps!

I hope you're enjoying your weekend so far and that the rest of it is looking promising.  I just thought I'd pop by and show you one of the cards I've made using just wor Sheena's Taste of India Embossing Folders (no stamps were used in the creation of this card!!).

There are two in evidence on this card - Henna Mango (5" x 7") and Indian Lattice (A4).  I also brought the Distress Inks, Luminarte Silks and Pebeo Gilding Wax out to play!

So, if you thought you'd missed the Taste of India Collection and were regretting it, you have a second chance to buy some goodies on Monday 12 May on Create and Craft TV at 9.00 a.m. and 3 p.m.  There'll be some great techniques demo'd by Sheena as well.

I'll see you there!

A bit more Oriental

Good morning, peeps and a lovely fine and sunny morning it is too!

Today, I thought I'd show you some of the lantern images in wor Sheena's latest collection coming to a screen near you on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on Create and Craft's Pick of the Week (it's been extended from a Pick of the Weekend!!)  The collection includes not just stamps but fabulous embossing folders and Designer Papers too!  You'll find it hard to know what to use first because it's all fabulous!

The background was created using first a layer of smooshed on Distress Ink in Antique Linen, Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass and Spun Sugar all applied to the matte side of Centura Pearl Card.  I then used the two cherry blossom branch stamps inked with Versamark all over the card.  I brushed the Tahiti Dreams set of Primary Elements over the Versamark images and followed that by dabbing a damp sponge all over the card (you know the one you've seen Sheena use with bits pulled out of it!).  When the card was dry, I put it through the Cherry Blossom Embossing Folder and just rubbed the Silver Pebeo Gilding Wax lightly over the embossed flowers and slightly more liberally around the edges.

The brackets in the corners were stamped on silver card and cut out.  The cherry blossom stamp was stamped and embossed in black on to Heat Resistant Acetate then painted from the back with the Pebeo Studio Acrylics.  I coloured the lanterns with Copics but the Spectrum Noirs would do just as good a job and you'll find them on special promotion on the shows!

It's hard to see the background paper in this piccie but it's one of the ones from the paper pad that's part of the collection and it has blue koi carp printed on it.

I do hope you'll be watching along with me over the weekend and beyond.  The timings at the moment are:

Friday 20 September 12 p.m., 3p.m. and 5 p.m.
Saturday 8 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Sunday 9 a.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Monday 4p.m. and 7p.m.

However, I should watch the C & C website in case there are changes to this info.

Thanks for looking today.

A little bit Oriental

Good morning, peeps!  I think Autumn is creeping up on us and it's getting chillier.  However, in this little scene the weather is lovely!

Apart from using acetate masks to create the mountains and moon and the Silhouette Wildflowers (including the butterfly) in the foreground, everything else is from wor Sheena's new Little Bit Oriental range which is to be launched on Create and Craft TV over Friday, Saturday and Sunday in a Pick of the Weekend feature.  There are A4 and 5" x 7" embossing folders and Designer Papers as well as the stamp plates and lots of other exciting goodies as well so something for everyone in this launch.  You can see that I've used one of the embossing folders to create the base layer of this card and enhanced it with the wonderful Pebeo Gilding Wax, which I absolutely love.

The shows on Friday are at 8.00 a.m., 1.00 and 6.00 p.m.  I'll have to update you on the ones over the rest of the weekend but I know that 9 shows in all are scheduled - yee-haa!  I'll be watching and I'll see you again tomorrow with another sneaky peek at this gorgeousness!

Thank you for looking today.

Some from the archives

Good morning, peeps!

Well I think I need my wrists slapped for not posting anything for almost two weeks but I can assure you that there's lots of work and planning going on here behind the scenes at Whitehouse Towers.  With the way the weather's been lately here in Yorkshire, I think I might as well be indoors working since it's too chilly to sit out!

Anyhoo, to break the silence from Inky Meanderings, I thought I'd show you some of the cards that I made for Sheena's last shows on Create and Craft TV.  There was a new release of embossing folders and boy did I have fun with those and especially decorating them with flowers made with stamps from the Paint Fusion Range.  I haven't yet got going with the Paint Fusion technique but watch this space, I certainly hope to be doing so in the not too distant future!

This card was the first one that I made and includes a Cheery Lynn Die called 'Fanciful Flourish' - it's one I use a lot and you could well spot it on several of my cards.  The base of this card was made from the Daisy Embossing Folder, which had the flat areas covered with gold glitter EP and the embossed daisies distressed with Peeled Paint DI.  The problem with these bling-tastic cards is that they are really hard to photograph but look so much better in the flesh.  The rose was created from paper sprayed with the Luminarte Radiant Rain then stamped with the Rose Bloom image several times.  You then start cutting petals out to make the various layers until you end up with one petal that forms the centre.  I think there are loads of videos on You Tube that illustrate this method.

More roses but this time on an acetate background.  I first covered the heat resistant acetate with alcohol inks from the Spectrum Noir Pens, which really are so reasonably priced that it doesn't give you a conscience using them this way.  The acetate was then run through the Big Shot in the Heavy Swirl Embossing Folder and embossed on the opposite side from the alcohol inks with plain gold EP.

One more....

A little flower bed full of pansies and violas behind a wrought iron edging created with a Martha Stewart punch that was then covered with Black Glint WOW EP.  This time the embossed background started with a Radiant Rain covered piece of card that then had Kaleidoscope EP applied to it. (Spot that Cheery Lynn die again!!)

I think I so enjoyed making these cards because they were something a little bit different for me.  There were quite a few more but I won't bore you with them now.  Thank you for reading this far and I'll be back with more news soon.

Hugs
