Blue Christmas

Good evening, peeps!

It's time to reveal another of the wonderful Christmas stamps that wor Sheena will be showing and demonstrating on IDEAL WORLD (not C & C as I said in my last post!) at 11.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. on Wednesday.

This should make you feel a lot cooler:

Yes, peeps, only the wishes are warm on this card but I do like shades of blue and mauve for Christmas don't you?

I've used the dies a fair bit on this one - Spellbinders to cut the the aperture in the card and dies from Marianne and Cheery Lyn for the pine tree and the holly.  The image was painted with watercolours.

I can't wait t see what Sheena does with all of the fabulous images and I'll defo be poised with a cup of coffee on Wednesday.  Hope to see you there!

Thank you for looking today.

If it was nae fer ma wellies.....

Good morning, peeps!

The way the Yorkshire weather is looking today, I could well be needing a pair of these!  But these are special Christmas wellies from wor Sheena who has already been busy drawing a whole new series of Christmas stamps that you'll see on her shows on Create and Craft TV on Wednesday at 11.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m.

Here's my first sample:

I used the paper piecing technique for this one and just added some shading to the paper with coloured pencils.

I hope you like it and thank you for looking today.

Daisies in Distress

Good afternoon, peeps!  What a gorgeous day it is and if there are any daisies in your garden, the sun will certainly make their faces turn to the sky!

Here are some daisies that I put on a card for wor Sheena's shows on Create and Craft TV tomorrow at 9.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m.

I created a classic, water splattered Distress Ink Background and then stamped the daisies and their leaves on top.  I then removed the colour from within the images using plain water on my brush and then blotting it off with kitchen paper (faux bleaching technique).  The next stage was to colour the images with Distress Markers and I also used some white wax pencil on the flowers.  The background paper is printed from Sheena's Paint Fusion CD, which has a wonderful collection of all sorts of goodies to use on your cards and in your mixed media work.  The die cuts are from a Cheery Lyn die (I think - I take them from the packets and store them on magnetic sheets so they can become somewhat anonymous!)

I hope you enjoy the shows tomorrow - they are defo going to be worth missing a little sunshine for!!

Thanks for looking today.

Look into the Fuschia

Good evening, peeps!  I had meant to write this post much earlier today and then 'things' took over, as they have a habit of doing.  Anyhoo, here I am at last to show you a sneaky peek of the sort of thing you may see on Sheena's shows on Create and Craft TV on Saturday 8 June at 9.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m.  Here is one of the samples I made using Sheena's Paint Fusion Fuschia image and there are lots more from my talented Design Teamies:

The background and images were painted with the wonderful Pebeo Acrylics (can you tell I'm totally sold on these?) on Centura Pearl card (the matt side) and the Matt Gel was used to dilute the paints to create the misty background.  The text and the corners are from the Aging Beautifully stamp set.

I'll be back tomorrow with another sneaky peek but thank you for looking today.

It's all in the eyes!

Good afternoon, peeps!

Isn't it good to have a taste of Summer for a change - long may it last I say!

Here is something a little different from the projects I've been showing you recently but I'm teaching this card at workshops for Samuel Taylor.  The first one is at the Brighouse store on Saturday 8 June and the next one is at the Roseville Street, Leeds store on Tuesday 18 June.

I really love the images from Saturated Canary - the huge eyes that Krista draws into her images are just captivating!  The brief was also to produce a pop-up card and here's the result.  First the front of the card:

and on the inside....

The idea for this card came from the talented Norma but I messed with the measurements a bit to fit in the images I wanted to use and the designer papers are from Basic Grey and Echo Park.  I've also used dies from Memory Box and Marianne.

The images were coloured with Copics and the sentiment is a Stampendous image called 'Happy Swirl'.

Thank you for looking today and if you're able to book for a workshop, please just follow the link for Samuel Taylor for contact info.
